hello – mark chesman told me of your website today – i work on the garden and estate team at ysp and your blog has shown me a whole new aspect to the park and reserve areas – when you have your head buried in rhododendron or whatever trying to restore the horticultural neglect which the mansion site has suffered it’s not always possible to see what’s going on above our heads or under our noses – your photos also are lovely – tremendous support to my rudimentary skills in identifying birds – give me a plant and i’ll tell you its name but the avian world is beyond my ken – now i’ll use your blog to extend my perceptual range – when you are next in the reserve would you please ask a warden or someone in the visitor centre to radio me as i would like to meet up -
Thanks very much Steve, I certainly will.
Hi, Love your site, Bretton is one of my favourite places. Im from Barnsley originally but in Rotherham now. My dad used to take me briding a lot at Bretton. Im especially interested in the pic of the lesser spotted you took at Meltham on Pete Mellas site. He gave me a couple of sites but no luck so far, Ive been searching most of the spring for one!!! Is there any chance you could give me some info on the site(obviously I understand if you’d rather not) my e mail address is matthew.armitage@evanshalshaw.com
thanks in advance
Mat
Hi, What a cracking site. A couple of weeks ago I’d decided to do a 2010 bird list for the Bretton Lakes area then by chance stumbled on your blog whilst reading about the lakes. The photo’s are superb. Having looked at your list, if anything crops up of note I will be sure to let you know and no doubt bump into you whilst out and about. I will look forward to your future posts. Keep up the good work! Kris
Thanks Kris. I’ve decided to put my Bretton reports on blogger now at this address http://www.bluebirder.blogspot.com as it was becoming time consuming doing both. I find blogger easier and quicker to use too. Please do let me know if you find anything good – you can always leave a comment on blogger or email me at willforrest@yahoo.com – and good luck with your 2010 list. Cheers.
